Welcome to fairieselvesandwitches.co.uk, home of The Fairy Family. The Fairy Family are a collection of ethically produced, handmade figurines, with flexible limbs and hand painted features. Each one is dressed in combinations of silks, satin, nylon and lace, and decorated with sequins and beads. Exquisitely detailed, each fairy, elf or witch can be posed to sit on a shelf, peep out from a plant, or can be suspended from a fine golden loop of thread from a ceiling or light.

The Fairy Family is produced in Thailand by a silk flower manufacturer who has great attention to detail. The figurines are made by homeworkers in rural areas where work is hard to come by. Most of the workers are women who would usually stay at home looking after the family while the man goes out to find work- the fairies give a very needed second source of income to those in deprived areas, while still allowing the day to day family duties to be done.

The company is subscribed to a government run fund, into which it pays a proportion of yearly profits. This centrally run fund builds infrastructure in the rural areas where production takes place, helping to provide communities with access, water, electricity, etc.
