In 2006 we branched out into a select range of gift items with a magical or fairy theme. Products we distribute must meet our standards of quality, value and ethics. Our fairies are ethically produced in Thailand by a company that works with the Royal Thai government to fund a social development program. Workers in the company's several sites are drawn predominantly from a rural background and are encouraged to work from home, where they are able to look after the family at the same time.
Each fairy is hand dressed in various materials, ribbons, and beads, and its features are hand painted. We present our fairies in clear acetate boxes, with a backing card that details the type of fairy it is, and it's personality. These backing cards are produced in the UK on recycled card using a non toxic waterless ink process.
Our business plan involves remaining small and personal. We're looking for independent retailers to forge long term relationships with, rather than quick sales to large chain stores. We aim to find a balance between the commercial reality of running a business and our quality of life- we feel that too often work becomes an end in itself, rather than a means to an end.
